Gabrielle began her professional dance career in Columbia, SC where her choreography and performance received honorable mention by both the SC and National Dance Education Organizations. Continuing her studies, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Education with a minor in Spanish at Columbia College on both dance scholarship and the SC Teaching Fellowship. She has also received a Masters in Education in Divergent Learning at Columbia College. She has performed with professional companies including The Power Company, Argentine Tango Troupe, Terrance Henderson Inc., and faculty works including BJ Sullivan, and Janet Lilly. As a former 9-12 grade dance instructor and company director from 2012-2017, she curated the original dance curriculum for Irmo Performing Arts High School and International Baccalaureate Magnet.
Her current academic research entitled Black Female Bodies: Studying Modern Representation in Contemporary Dance was selected as a lead presentation for the 2020 National Association of African American Studies international virtual conference. Additionally, her scholarship in Afro Diaspora foundations in Jazz technique and performance was awarded through the 2021 Artist Express Grant, funded by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
