Elsie Mufuka

Originally from Gardens Corner, SC. The blood that runs through Elsie Mufuka's veins is from Zimbabwe, Africa. Mufuka's education includes Masters of Arts Administration from Winthrop University and Coker University of dual Bachelor of Art degrees in Dance and Communications. After her undergraduate completion, she accepted her first professional opportunity by encouragement of Mentor Natty Mncube in Johannesburg, South Africa with Ntosana Contemporary Dance Theatre lead by Sello Pesa. Mufuka is the founder/director of MufukaWorks Dance Co., Dance Educator of McClintock Middle, Teaching artist of Charlotte Ballet, Founder member of Dance Artist Alliance Clt (DAACLT) and curator for Boom Festival Clt. Some of her awards are 2019 NC Dance Educator of the Year and Teacher of the Year. Through all her success in Dance, she credits her family for their inspiration and support.
