Fall Dance Artist Meet-up
Sunday, September 15
2pm - 4pm
Ballantyne Backyard

Meet other dance artists and participate in the 28th Festival of India. Join u sat Ballantyne’s Backyard located at 11611 N Community House, Charlotte, NC 28277. The event is from 12pm - 6pm but we will hang out together from 2pm - 4pm.



This is a FREE event and there will be ample FREE parking available as well.

Presented by the India Association of Charlotte with a strong partnership with Charlotte International Arts Festival. This will be the 2nd day of the festival where you can expect:

Dance performances
Cultural exhibits
Visual art gallery
Henna Stations
Dance Workshops
Rangoli Workshops
Indian Food Court & Souvenir Bazaar

CONVERGE

Seeking 10 choreographers excited to challenge their artistry through cross-genre/style collaboration. 

 

Step 1: Apply to be a Converge choreographer in your primary genre/style

 

Step 2: If selected DAACLT will intentionally partner you with another selected choreographer of another genre/style

 

Step 3: Collaborate with your partner and selected dancers to create a brand new work 8-10 min in length (Sept./ Oct.) 

​

Step 4: Present this new work alongside other courageous choreographers at the Converge Showcase (Nov. 9 and 10) 

​

The work needs to be between 8 - 10 minutes. 

Only choreographers and dancers from Mecklenburg County and neighboring counties can participate.

Each choreographer will receive the following: 

Members: $300

Non-Members: $260 + a DAACLT Membership

Stipend for Dancers: $600

We are working on finding some complimentary studio rehearsal time for choreographers

Schedule
August 15: Application Deadline

November 8, 3pm - 9pm: Dress Rehearsal 

November 9

2:30pm - 5:30pm: Workshops

7pm: Show

Followed by a Reception

November 10, 7pm: Show
