
Dance Artist Alliance CLT is a collective of dance artists, choreographers, teaching artists and allied professionals that have joined together across dance genres to increase cultural equity and access for diverse artists and communities, build dance audiences and promote quality, sustainability and unity within the sector.
Meet The Board
CO - CHAIR
Arlynn Zachary is a choreographer, director, professor, administrator, stage manager, and aspiring dance photographer in the Charlotte dance scene. She is the Artistic Director of THE MARK dance company, Co-Chair of Dance Artists Alliance CLT, Director of Dance for Charlotte New Music and Your Neighborhood Orchestra (YNO), Stage Manager for Moving Poets Charlotte and YNO, and is on dance faculty at Winthrop University and Charlotte Cirque & Dance Center. She has an MFA in choreography from UNCG, a BA in choreography from Goucher College, and an AA degree from CPCC.

Caroline Calouche is the Director of Caroline Calouche & Co. and, Director of the Charlotte Cirque & Dance Center. She has trained and worked internationally, has two BFA degrees in Ballet and Modern Dance from Texas Christian University, and certifications in Pilates, Gyrokinesis, Aerial Silks, and Trapeze from Nimble Arts.

With a Masters in Arts Administration, Reba believes in using the knowledge and skills she’s acquired formally and informally to strengthen other Artists and Art & Culture organizations.

I am an energetic, diverse dancer comfortable in both studio and non-traditional settings. I started my training with Toledo Ballet and continued my training at the University of Richmond. I am currently with Wingspan dance and am available for additional projects dancing ballet, jazz, African, modern, and contemporary.

Shaun's a performer, coach, and choreographer specializing in aerial arts, hip hop, and dance fitness. Shaun enjoys teaching and sharing his love for performance art. Originally from Florida and a former UCF cheerleader, Shaun studied Business Administration at UCF. Shaun's training includes ballroom, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, circus, and gymnastic disciplines.

Camerin Watson is a local dancer and choreographer in Charlotte, NC. She has BFA in dance performance and choreography from UNCG and received her Adaptive Dance Teacher Certification from Boston Ballet in 2018. Watson is the Artistic Director for BOOM, Charlotte’s annual contemporary arts festival and the Director of Open Door Studio’s Adaptive Dance Program for dancers with and without disabilities.

Elizabeth Mendieta is a contemporary dancer and choreographer. Her work has been performed at The Deadline, the International Sandwich Festival, Loose Leaves, and BOOM. In New York City she was a scholarship student with Jennifer Muller/The Works, an apprentice with Lori Belilove and the Isadora Duncan Dance Company, a guest artist with the Alison Cook Beatty Dance Company and a company member with Emma Elliott Dance. She graduated from the UNCC in 2017, with degrees in Dance Performance and Business Management.

Receiptient of the 2019 NC Teacher of the Year award, Mufuka's education includes Masters of Arts Administration from Winthrop University and a BA in Dance and Communications from Coker University

Gabrielle is an assistant professor of dance and coordinator for dance education at Winthrop University. She is a 2020 MFA dance graduate from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. As a previous high school dance director and curriculum curator, she received a Masters in Education at Columbia College, SC.

Emily Toye received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee where she studied Supply Chain Management and International Business. She grew up dancing and continued through college where she joined UT's Boss Dance Company and taught ballet at a local studio. Emily recently moved to Charlotte and continues to stay involved with dance through classes/residencies at Open Door Studios.

Elizabeth Roach-Paulus is a dance teacher and dancer in the Charlotte area. She holds a BFA in Dance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. While continuing to excel in both modern dance and ballet, she holds certifications from the ABT teacher training curriculum, Limon teacher workshop, Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), and yoga. Since 2012, Elizabeth has been performing with various regional dance companies emphasizing both classical and contemporary works.
