NEXT MOVE: Dance Resource & Networking Experience

October 9 & October 18, 2026 | The Long Room, Charlotte, NC

Dance Artist Alliance Charlotte (DAACLT) presents Next Move, a two-part dance resource and networking experience created to bring Charlotte’s dance community together through movement, conversation, performance, resources, and connection.

Designed for dance artists, educators, choreographers, students, organizations, and professionals across the dance and creative community, Next Move creates space to move, connect, learn, share, and consider what comes next.

Across two unique events, attendees will have opportunities to participate in dance workshops, experience performances by local artists, connect with community organizations and businesses, engage in conversation with established dance professionals, and build relationships with others working throughout Charlotte’s dance community.

Friday, October 9 | 6:00–10:00 PM

The Long Room | 1111 Central Avenue, Suite 230

The evening experience will feature two dance workshops, short performances from local artists, curated resource tables, networking opportunities, interactive activities, and an after-party/mingle. Attendees can meet fellow dance professionals and community members, discover local resources, and connect with organizations and businesses supporting the dance community.

Sunday, October 18 | 10:00 AM–2:00 PM

The Long Room | 1111 Central Avenue, Suite 230

The daytime experience will open with a featured Next Move Roundtable, bringing together respected dance professionals from Charlotte and beyond. Panelists will share pieces of their artistic and career journeys and reflect on pivotal moments when they had to determine their own “next move”—whether through a transition, opportunity, challenge, risk, reinvention, or unexpected turn.

The roundtable will be followed by dance workshops, performances, resource connections, and opportunities for continued networking and conversation.

At its heart, Next Move is about the people and pathways that make a dance community thrive. It is an opportunity to celebrate the talent already here, create new connections, share knowledge and resources, and make space for the many directions a dance career and creative practice can take.

Next Move is part of DAACLT’s continued work to build an inclusive, unified, and thriving Charlotte-area dance community by strengthening professional connections, creating pathways for collaboration, increasing accessibility, supporting artists’ professional longevity, and celebrating the diverse movement traditions and talent within our region.
